MOSAICA® is the signalling and service platform, located on
your network POPs (Point of Presence), that handles all IP Centrex
services and terminals.
Each IP Centrex corporate customer is connected either through a
permanent IP VPN (recommended) or Internet connection to the service platform.
A typical call flow between a MOSAICA® IP Centrex user and a PSTN user
will be established as follows :
- when the IP Centrex user hooks up his phone and dials a number
(personal speed dial, enterprise short number or E164 number), the
corresponding signalling information is transmitted to MOSAICA® that will
authenticate the user and acknowledges the call control according to the user’s
service and call profiles.
- MOSAICA®
makes the decision to route the media flow to the relevant third party
equipment (IP/PSTN gateway, call routing server, class4 softswitch…) and notify
all service components that may interact with the IP Centrex user during the
call (CTI pop-up, SMS, web services, etc)
- the call
flow is directly established between the calling party and the called party,
the signalling information is maintained by MOSAICA® until the call is
released.
